Some residents at Awutu Bereku in the Central Region subjected a man believed to be in his twenties to severe beating and killed him in the process after he stole a motorbike.
According to reports, the deceased suspected to be a Nigerian has been accused of stealing motorbikes in the area.
Recounting the incident, the owner of the motorbike, Richard Nkansah said that, the suspect asked him to take him to a place upon reaching a section of the road, the suspect dropped from behind and applied a pepper spray on his eyes and fled with the motorbike.
“I started screaming for help and people came around and started to chase him until he was caught”, he added.
Further, some eyewitnesses also indicated that several motorbikes have been stolen at Awutu Beraku, Gomoa Akoti and its environs.
Meanwhile, the Awutu Bereku District Police command has since initiated investigations into the matter.
