The police service in collaboration with Greater Accra Regional Security Council (REGSEC) has arrested 13 people for allegedly putting illegal structures on Military range land at Teshie and Laboma in the La Dade-Kotonpon Municipality of the greater Accra Region.

The arrests were made when the Greater Accra Regional Security Council inspected the site only to find structures on portions along the Kpeshie Lagoon.

REGSEC chairman, Daniel Nii Titus Glover speaking to the media after the inspection, indicated that the illegal structure on the land will be demolished very soon.

According to him, those people who were arrested are just persons working for others and are going to assist the police with investigation until the owner of the property appears to face the full rigorous of the law. They will only be given bail when the owner appears.

“Everybody should come on board to help find the person who sold the land to them because the traditional leaders say they have no hand in this because they were only told by the owner that they wanted wooden structures temporarily.
The owner should come and tell us who sold the land to them to put up such permanent structures”. he said.
