The Police has commenced probe into a clash of armed men led by Obaapanyin Yaa Asantewaa, Aberawatia of the Kwahu traditional area and the residents of Abetifi in the Kwahu Municipality of the Central Region.
The clash which erupted on November 7, 2024 left six people injured.
The clash begun when Obaapanyin Yaa Asantewaa, Aberawatia of Kwahu traditional area entered the Abetifi palace to destool Kwahu Adontenhene, Akyeamfour Asiedu Agyeman III, acting as Kwahu traditional Area President.
The armed men were perceived to be from National security by the residents stormed the palace with Yaa Asantewaa and held the Adontenhene hostage.
When the Obaapanyin began to perform traditional rights to remove the Adontenhene, the youth and some residents of Abetifi interrupted the action of the Obaapanyin with machetes to express their displeasure.
The police intervened to restore peace in the area .
