Controversy over a broadcaster’s Range Rover birthday gift has attracted the attention of the police.

The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) has notified the Ghana Police Service to open an investigation into a photograph on social media that has two cars bearing the same number plate.

The request by the DVLA comes after a black Range Rover SUV gifted to the General Manager of GH One TV, Nana Aba Anamoah, on her birthday had the same number plate as that of a Nissan Rogue vehicle.

The number plate, GR 2050-20, belonged to a white Nissan Rogue vehicle which was registered on January 6, 2020.

The Authority in a press statement said, the Nissan Rogue was a registered car in their system, they couldn’t say the same for the Range Rover.

“The licensing Authority can confirm that the white Nissan Rogue SUV has been registered and assigned with the registration number in consonance with the Road Traffic regulation, however, checks in the system indicates that the black Range Rover is not registered” part of the statement read.

This is about the second time; the television personality has been ‘caught’ over a social media post.

In 2015, Nana Aba Anamoah posted a photoshopped image of herself, suggesting that she was at Old Trafford; where Manchester United plays its home matches.

The outspoken presenter was suspended by her then employers, TV3.

“After preliminary investigations internally, and in accordance with TV3’s own commitment to the highest level of professionalism, Management has decided to take Nana Aba Anamoah off air until further notice …..we expect guardians of our brand particularly employees who we entrust to deliver content on air to our viewers, to ascribe to the company’s values whatever they are” part of TV3’s statement read.

Nana Aba later rendered an apology and then a resignation letter.

“Sorry to all who got offended by that joke. It was all meant to be an innocent prank.” she tweeted.
