President John Dramani Mahama has revoked the appointment of Anne Sansa Daly as a member of the Board of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA).
The decision, officially communicated in a letter dated May 23, 2025, comes as part of a reshuffle within the health sector’s governance structure.
The letter, signed by the Secretary to the President, Dr. Callistus Mahama, and addressed to the Minister of Health, directs that the necessary steps be taken to facilitate the swearing-in of her replacement, Prof. Dr. (Med) Ernest Yorke.
Prof. Yorke, a seasoned medical practitioner and academic, is expected to bring new perspectives to the NHIA Board amid ongoing efforts to reform and strengthen Ghana’s health insurance scheme.
The letter also copied the Vice President and the Chief of Staff, signaling the importance attached to the transition.
No specific reasons were given for the revocation of Ms. Daly’s appointment.
