President John Dramani Mahama has successfully restored his official X (formerly Twitter) account (@JDMahama) after it was compromised on March 16, 2025.
The breach involved unauthorized posts promoting a cryptocurrency scam, Solana Africa, which falsely claimed to be an initiative led by the President to facilitate free payments across Africa using the Solana blockchain.
In a statement, President Mahama expressed his gratitude for the support received during the incident.
“Thank you for your inquiries and offers to assist. My team, working with X support, has successfully restored my account,” he wrote.
The Cyber Security Authority (CSA) confirmed its collaboration with X and other stakeholders to address the breach and prevent future occurrences.
