Senior Lecturer at the University of Ghana, Prof. Alidu Mahama Seidu, has emerged victorious in the Tamale Central parliamentary primaries of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
He secured 840 votes out of 1511 ballot cast, in a tightly contested race held at the Alhaji Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium.
The primaries was organized to select a successor following the tragic death of MP Alhaji Murtala Muhammed in a helicopter crash.
Twelve aspirants, including three women, competed for the slot.
