Police in the Central East Region have apprehended a 25-year-old suspect, Okolie Samuel, following a daring early morning robbery in Millennium City, Kasoa.

According to preliminary investigations, the incident occurred around 5:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 10, 2025, near Golden Prime Preparatory School. Okolie allegedly ambushed a female pedestrian and stole her handbag, which contained an iPhone 16 Pro Max and a purse holding an undisclosed sum of money.

Acting swiftly on intelligence and the victim’s tip-off, officers traced the suspect to his hideout in Ngleshie Amanfrom, a suburb of Accra.

A search of the premises uncovered not only the stolen iPhone positively identified by the victim but also a surprising collection of other electronics and valuables.

Items Recovered at the Scene Include:

– A Dell laptop

– Two Itel mobile phones

– One Nokia and one

– Alcatel phone

DSP Victor Kofi Dosoo, Head of Public Affairs for the Regional Command, confirmed in a statement that Okolie is in custody, assisting with ongoing investigations.
