Police in the Central East Region have apprehended a 25-year-old suspect, Okolie Samuel, following a daring early morning robbery in Millennium City, Kasoa.
According to preliminary investigations, the incident occurred around 5:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 10, 2025, near Golden Prime Preparatory School. Okolie allegedly ambushed a female pedestrian and stole her handbag, which contained an iPhone 16 Pro Max and a purse holding an undisclosed sum of money.
Acting swiftly on intelligence and the victim’s tip-off, officers traced the suspect to his hideout in Ngleshie Amanfrom, a suburb of Accra.
A search of the premises uncovered not only the stolen iPhone positively identified by the victim but also a surprising collection of other electronics and valuables.
Items Recovered at the Scene Include:
– A Dell laptop
– Two Itel mobile phones
– One Nokia and one
– Alcatel phone
– One Vodafone WiFi device
– Two pairs of AirPods
– A gold necklace
– Three wristwatches
– A ladies’ purse and wallet containing a health insurance card (name: Kwapong Sahnan)
– Ten memory cards
DSP Victor Kofi Dosoo, Head of Public Affairs for the Regional Command, confirmed in a statement that Okolie is in custody, assisting with ongoing investigations.
Police have invited anyone who may have fallen victim to similar robberies to report to the Regional Command.
The Command reaffirmed its dedication to maintaining public safety and encouraged continued community cooperation to flush out criminal elements across the region.
