Member of Parliament and Minister for Communications, Digital Technology and Innovations, Sam Nartey George, has called on Eric Edem Agbana to remain resolute and uncompromising in his role on Parliament’s Public Accounts Committee (PAC).
In a Facebook post, Sam George encouraged Agbana to uphold the principles of accountability and transparency, describing the Committee as a critical platform in Ghana’s fight against corruption.
“Hold your head high! Do not let the insecurities of other people cause you to diminish. The Committee you sit on is a massive platform. It anchors the very fight against corruption,” he stated.
Drawing from his own experience, the Ningo-Prampram MP revealed that his time on the Committee came with challenges, including opposition from powerful individuals, but emphasised that service to the nation must remain the ultimate priority.
“I served on that Committee for eight years and made enemies, high and mighty, because I chose to be uncompromising. It didn’t make me the favourite of a section of people, but I served all the same,” he added.
He further charged Agbana to take up the responsibility with courage and diligence, stressing the importance of holding public officials accountable at all times.
“Today, you hold that torch. The torch which burns with the flame of accountability. Demand answers. Probe deeper. Question harder. Even when I appear before you on behalf of my Ministry, for that is your service to your nation,” he noted.
