Member of Parliament (MP) for Kumbungu Constituency, Northern Region and a member of the National Democratic Congress(NDC), Ras Mubarak has disclosed that the National Communications Director of the NDC, Sammy Gyamfi has been granted bail with the condition that he reports to the cybercrime unit of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the police every Monday.

He made this revelation on Happy FM’s ‘Epa Hoa Daben’ show hosted by Kwame Afrifa Mensah.

According to him, Sammy Gyamfi’s arrest is an attempt by the ruling Government to intimidate members of the NDC.

“We know that these are some of the intimidation we will face in this election year. But we are focused. Because NDC is a tolerant party, we allow these things to go”’ he said.

When quizzed by host Kwame Afrifa Mensah on the charge levelled against Sammy Gymafi, he stated: “It is alleged that he wrote something about a presidential staffer that is untrue on his Facebook wall. But we know there is a process of dealing with this. You will have to go to court for defamation of character. So I am surprised they used national security in this case”.

Earlier today, the National Communications Director of the NDC, Sammy Gyamfi was reported to have been picked by the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) at an Accra-based television station.
