A member of former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s campaign team, Dennis Miracles Aboagye, has described GoldBod CEO Sammy Gyamfi as the only hardworking appointee in the John Dramani Mahama administration.
Speaking on the performance of appointees under the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government, Mr. Aboagye said most of them are not making any meaningful impact except Sammy Gyamfi, whom he praised for his productivity and leadership.
He commended Mr. Gyamfi for his role at GoldBod, noting that his initiatives have helped to reduce gold smuggling from the country.
“Instead of NDC appointees to relax and learn, they always talk with pride. Apart from Sammy Gyamfi, who has been productive, the rest are unproductive,” Mr. Aboagye stated.
He further lauded Mr. Gyamfi for effectively engaging small-scale miners and implementing policies that promote transparency in the gold sector.
Mr. Aboagye urged other appointees in the NDC government to emulate Sammy Gyamfi’s work ethic and strive to make a positive impact.
He also called on the government to ensure the availability of dollars in the market to address concerns raised by importers and exporters.
