The full list of nominees for the 2018 Sound City MVP awards has been released. The 2018 edition of the awards scheme will be held next year 5th January 2019 in Nigeria.

In the full list of 2018 Sound city MVP ( Man Of The Year), dancehall king Shatta Wale grabbed two nominations.

He was nominated in the Best Male MVP and would be competing with the likes of Wizkid, Nasty C, Mr. Eazi, Davido, Olamide, Burna Boy, etc.

Shatta also got a nomination in the ‘Video Of The Year’ category with his most expensive video this year, ‘Gringo’.

Kwesi Arthur also landed two nominations in the Best Hip Pop and Best New Artiste Category. Our ‘Angela’ hitmaker, Kuami Eugene also a spot in the Best Pop and Listeners Choice category.

We also see other Ghanaian artistes like Sarkodie, R2bess, Kidi, King Promise, Becca, Efya, DJ Vyrusky all earning nominations in the 2018 Sound City MVP Awards.

There is a new category in addition to the talents who would be recognized this year; ‘African DJ of the Year’ would celebrate the most accomplished DJ on the continent in the year and the inaugural nominees are DJ Spinall, DJ Neptune, Prince Kaybee, DJ MicSmith, DJ Arafat, Black Coffee, DJ Xclusive, DJ Kaywise, DJ Vyrusky and DJ Maphorisa.

In pushing the “Africa is Now” narrative, this year’s awards will honour excellent individuals and personalities in the areas of sports, entrepreneurship, creative arts, fashion, digital influence and socio-political development as it ties into entertainment.

Tickets to attend the live show are on sale on WWW.XCHANGE.NG and the award ceremony will be aired live and streamed around the globe on the 5th January 2019 from Eko Convention Centre in Lagos, Nigeria.
