School Feeding Caterers protest: Gender Minister assures payments on Tuesday

School Feeding Caterers protest: Gender Minister assures payments on Tuesday

The Minister of Gender, Children and Social protection, Darkoa Newman has assured School Feeding Caterers that their monies will be paid to them tomorrow, Tuesday December 31, 2024.

According to her, she has met with a selected number of the school Feeding Caterers on behalf of the association and given them her word that payment will be made tomorrow.

She added that members of the school Feeding Caterers Association should rest assured that they will get access to their money.

“I met with the people they have selected to come and talk on their behalf, we were up here for a while and it has been done. I believe tomorrow when the payment is made there won’t be any issue of we don’t believe in your word because it is about receiving their money, they’ve worked and they deserve their payments”.

She added that the process has already started and she is hoping that the Caterers will get their money as promised.

She urged the Caterers to exercise patients because they will have their money at their respective pay points.

” We know that the money has delayed but we will do the needful”, she said

School Feeding Caterers stormed the Gender Ministry to demand their unpaid arrears, earlier today.
