The Second Lady, Hajia Samira Bawumia, has committed to making the development of Berekum East constituency a top priority if her husband, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, is elected as the next President of Ghana in the upcoming general elections.

Speaking to voters in Berekum East during her tour of the Bono Region on Tuesday, August 27, 2024, she emphasized the importance of getting to know the constituents personally, and vice versa, to strengthen ties. Samira Bawumia assured that she would ensure her husband remains dedicated to the tasks required to bring meaningful progress to the area, should he be given the mandate to lead the country.

She further mentioned that the development of Berekum East would be significantly enhanced if the people vote for both Dr. Bawumia and Nelson Kyeremeh, the NPP Parliamentary candidate for Berekum East. She stressed that this dual support would facilitate the fulfillment of promises made to the constituency without delay.

Meanwhile, NPP Bono Regional Chairman, Kwame Barfo Abronye, urged the people of Berekum East to decisively reject the NDC and its leader, John Dramani Mahama, in the upcoming elections.

He argued that Mahama has consistently failed to deliver on his campaign promises and did little to develop the country during his presidency from 2012 to 2016.

Abronye also criticized Mahama’s stance on NPP initiatives like the Free SHS and Agenda 111, claiming that Mahama lacks the insight needed to advance these policies. He affirmed that the NPP remains the best party to continue improving and expanding these flagship programs.
