Tensions at Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) have reached a boiling point as unidentified individuals claiming to be National Security operatives forcibly locked the office of the hospital’s Human Resource Director, Anthony Kofi Oduro.
The dramatic move, reportedly carried out in the early hours of June 10, 2025, was accompanied by demands for his immediate removal.
Sources indicate the action follows weeks of agitation by hospital staff, who had earlier petitioned the KATH Board for Oduro’s dismissal, citing widespread allegations of misconduct.
The petition, dated May 8, 2025, accuses him of fostering a hostile work environment, engaging in dishonest and discriminatory practices, and failing to transparently handle human resource matters.
Specific allegations against Oduro include:
– Extortion – Staff were allegedly coerced into paying GH₵10 under questionable circumstances.
– Favoritism – Accusations of bias in promotions and benefits distribution.
– Division among employees – Withholding key information and deliberately causing unrest.
Hospital authorities have yet to issue a formal response regarding the incident or confirm the involvement of security operatives.
However, staff members insist that urgent intervention is needed to restore calm and resolve lingering concerns over Oduro’s leadership.
