Serwaa Broni saga: I’ve received calls all over the world – Akoto
Share on FacebookShare on TwitterShare on Whatsapp

Communication team member for the opposition National Democratic Congress, Henry Osei Akoto, has disclosed he has received numerous calls from friends and colleagues from other parts of the world after Serwaa Broni’s interview with Kevin Taylor.

The 2020 NDC Parliamentary candidate for the OforikromConstituency believes the allegations by Serwaa Broni has not only dented the image of President Akufo-Addo but could have a rippling effect on the country’s identity.

In an interview on Happy98.9 FM’s ‘Epa Hoa Daben’ socio-political talk show with Don Kwabena Prah, Osei Akoto reiterated that the President could be removed from office with reference to article 69.b(i).

“This issue is more serious that we think, it should be one of the major issues that needs to be address now. It’s all over the world, people are calling me from all other areas in the world. One question that cuts across was why our president behaved in such a manner. He has dented the seat of the Presidency and could be removed by the same constitution that brought him into office. In article 16.b.i. of the 1992 constitution, it indicates that no elected President should be seen in acts that soil the seat of the presidency,” he said.

“Ghanaians remember before the 2020 elections when the popular name ‘Papa nu’ came out after it was alleged that our former President John Mahama had an affair with a supposed lady. This false claim orchestrated by the NPP had serious effects on the NDC ahead of elections. So why can’t we talk about this issue which emerged almost two years?” he quizzed.

Background

Evelyn Serwaa Broni has published private text messages allegedly exchanged between her and current President Akuffo-Addo.

Serwaa Broni as popularly known, in a no-holds-barred interview with US based blogger Kevin Taylor also claimed to have naked videos and pictures of President Akuffo-Addo but is holding onto them for the moment.

The self-confessed bisexual also publicly released the mobile phone numbers she chatted with the President on, in a bid to make the public believe the allegations to be true. The Airtel-Togo and Vodafone numbers were displayed publicly with the last three numbers covered.
