Few hours to the premiere of the much anticipated BBC Africa Eye undercover investigation that has some statute University lecturers implicated, social media users have reacted to the trailer of the documentary with varied testimonies.

The documentary dubbed ‘Sex for Grades’ is an undercover investigative piece into some academic institutions in West Africa which have  increasingly been faced with allegations of sexual harassment by lecturers. This type of abuse according to the BBC is said to be an endemic.

Even before it premieres, the title has taken over conversations on social media in both countries with users giving more shocking revelation about their experiences and frustration they have to go thorough whiles in the university.

“In the University, I had roommates who would attend lectures looking so ‘unkempt’ just so that they are not noticed by ‘these’ lecturers. Everyday of their school years were spent hiding & doing everything possible to not fall prey to these sexual predators. #SexForGrades,”social media user recounted.

The documentary premieres today at 6pm.

Below are some testimony

I know girls who willingly give out sex for good grades.. they go to the lecturers & offer them terms. so believe me, even though lecturers who practice these evil acts are fools who should be ashamed of themselves, dumb girls doing this willingly are a problem too. #SexForGrades

You are busy judging the girls who intentionally go to lecturers with the aim of #SexForGrades forgetting you too you have been doing Sex for indomie, sex for Momo, Sex for iphone etc. Y’all are doing the same open sesame for different purposes.

If this had not been recorded, he would have denied all allegations, reported her to the parents, and made sure she failed all courses till she accept his proposal.

#SexForGrades is now a norm in Unis
Many have fallen victim & many are still

It's now cultural for most LECTURERS
Students are now taking a shift to bed in

It started like a little kerosene on a spot
Now, it has spread & almost outta hands

This has to be made a history asap https://t.co/ggRa37BpnF

The BBC #AfricaEye team gathered tens of thousands of words of testimony from victims of harassment even before filming the #SexForGrades investigation. The scale of abuse is horrific. https://t.co/oxFAjgNEKG
