The Speaker of Parliament, Alban Sumana Bagbin, has strongly condemned the recent attack on the anti-galamsey taskforce in the Asutifi North Constituency.
The attack, allegedly incited by Members of Parliament, including Ebenezer Kwaku Agyemang and Collins Dauda, was described as “disturbing and unacceptable.”
The Speaker emphasized that parliamentary privileges are not absolute and must be exercised with responsibility and respect for the laws of the land.
He assured the public and security agencies of Parliament’s full cooperation in all investigations related to the incident.
“No one has denied that the attack took place, and we must all condemn it,” Speaker Bagbin stressed.
“The people of Ghana look up to us as beacons of hope, and it is our collective duty to uphold the values and standards that reflect the integrity of our great nation.”
