The Black Meteors will come up against Egyptian top guns, Zamalek FC in a friendly game on Tuesday, June 20, 2023, at the Zamalek Sports Complex.

The preparation game will kick off at 2:30 pm.

Ibrahim Tanko’s side played out a difficult 1-1 draw against the reigning U-23 AFCON champions, Egypt in Alexandria on Thursday, 15th June.

Ghana is currently in Cairo to continue preparations, ahead of the 2023 U-23 Africa Cup of Nations scheduled to take place in Morocco.

After the game, the team will immediately depart to Morocco to finalise preparations before the commencement of the U-23 Africa Cup of Nations.

Ghana will begin the tournament with a game against debutants, Congo on June 25 before they come up against the hosts, Morocco and finish the group stages with Guinea on June 30.

Advancement to the semi-finals stage will boost Ghana’s chances of making it to the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.

The top three teams of the U-23 AFCON will secure automatic qualification with the fourth-placed side expected to play a play-off game.
