The Executive Director of the African Centre for Parliamentary Affairs ACEPA, Dr. Rasheed Raman has urged the speaker of Parliament to dissolve and reconstitute the Appointments Committee if possible .
According to him, the people who were involved in the chaos during Thursday’s vetting should be punished if the law permits.
He also said this current committee cannot be relied on to do a proper job of confirmation of those who have been nominated by the president because of the way it has conducted it’s business.
“If I was to advice the speaker, I will say maybe looking at the rules, dissolve the committee maybe set some examples for people to pay for their sins, if the rules allow it.”
