The Majority Chief Whip, Rockson Nelson Dafeamekpor, has attributed the recent chaotic scenes during the vetting process to a collective decision by the Minority caucus on the Appointments Committee.

Appearing before the investigative committee probing the disturbances that occurred on Thursday, January 30, Mr. Dafeamekpor emphasized that the disruptions were not the actions of an individual but a coordinated effort by the minority caucus. According to him, once a caucus takes a decision, all its members are bound to follow through, leading to the chaotic events witnessed in Parliament.

He explained that the responsibility for the disorder should not fall on individual MPs but on the group as a whole, including its leadership. The vetting session, which descended into a violent confrontation, saw members overturning chairs and tables, disrupting proceedings.

He insisted that the condemnation should be directed at the caucus rather than individual members, as they were merely executing the collective decision taken by their leadership.
