The current Member of Parliament-elect for Madina Constituency, Lawyer Francis-Xavier Sosu has shared his inspiring story of how he scaled over hurdles in life.

In a new video on Instagram, the new entrant into parliament recounted how he had to struggle through life while squatting at the Malata Market in Accra.

He revealed how he had to push trucks and “sell everything sellable” just to be able to get some money to get by in life.

According to the NDC MP for Madina, even when he was elected as the Boys’ Prefect of St John’s Grammar Senior High School, he had to walk for miles to beg for money to be able to get to school.

At some point in his life, fate shone upon him and he got adopted into an orphanage.

It was there that he got some educational sponsorship and went on to become a Human Rights lawyer.

The MP-elect said after passing out, he had a strong conviction to give back to society by helping others who found themselves in the same position he found himself.

According to Lawyer Sosu, his bid to help a young man who had been remanded for 14 years without trial, got his law license revoked. He however added that the setback did not stop him from doing good and he even went a notch higher to help anyone he could with the least chance he got.

Lawyer Sosu went on to talk about his faith and trust in God which have been some of the pillars that have kept him growing from strength to strength.

The incumbent Member of Parliament (MP) for the Madina Constituency, Mr Abu-Bakar Saddique Boniface, lost his seat to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate, Mr Francis Xavier Sosu.

Mr Sosu obtained 62,127 votes to beat the former Minister of Inner City and Zongo Development who managed to poll 46,985 votes.

Prior to his win, Lawyer Sosu had tried a number of times to enter parliament with all of them ending in defeat. But he resolved to ensure that he gives it another shot in 2020 and he has made himself and political party proud.
