WAEC withholds 108 private candidates results

WAEC withholds 108 private candidates results

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has released provisional results for the 2024 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for Private Candidates, Second Series.

However, the results of 108 candidates have been withheld entirely, and the subject results of 303 candidates have been withheld due to detected malpractice during the examination and marking process.

WAEC indicated in a statement that out of 38,316 candidates who sat during the examination, 17,596 were males and 21,131 females, with 1,354 registered candidates absent.

The Council directed the candidates to access their results online at www.waecgh.org

WAEC also warned the public against scammers who claim to be able to upgrade examination results for a fee and assures that its results database is secure.

Institutions and organizations are encouraged to verify results directly from WAEC or use the online verification service at www.waecgh.org

This announcement comes amid uncertainty among parents and guardians and legal action against WAEC over 10,500 WASSCE results that have been withheld.

The Council expressed its profound gratitude to stakeholders for assistance smooth running of the examination.
