The Mobile Money Advocacy Group Ghana (MoMAG) has welcomed the Communication and Digitalization Ministry’s plan to do proper re-registration of SIM cards.

According to them, they are pleased to note that they share similar concerns regarding the existing registration procedures of SIM cards. They said the current system has several loopholes and flaws that require urgent attention.

In an interview with Happy Kasiɛbɔ, the National Secretary of MoMAG, Amoako Atta said when the Minister of Communication and Digitalisation, Sam Nartey George appeared before the vetting committee, he emphasized the importance of proper SIM re-registration and they support the idea.

He further stated that they will support the ministry’s efforts to address the challenges and promote a more robust and efficient digital ecosystem and look forward to engaging the ministry in constructive dialogue that will bring growth, innovation and inclusivity in Ghana’s communication and digitalisation sector.

“We say “ayeekoo” to the minister and we are ready to work with him and his ministry to promote the growth and development of Ghana’s mobile money ecosystem”.
