The Leader of Government Business who doubles as the MP for the Effutu constituency and Majority Leader of Parliament Alexander Afenyo Markin has challenged the Flag bearer of the opposition NDC not to run away from debating the NPP flagbearer Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

The Efutu Legislature in an engagement with the media indicated Dr.Mahmoud Bawumia is calling on the former President John Dramani Mahama to battle him in a Presidential debate in order for Ghanaians to determine for themselves who is capable of ruling the country based on their policies. Afenyo Markin tabled the Social interventions programme implemented by the NPP administration from the days of President Kuffour to date.

According to him, the Free SHS policy, National Health Insurance, School Feeding, LEAP, NEIP and other social intervention programmes have seen massive improvement over the years under the Nana Addo, Bawumia government. He made reference to the mid-year budget presented by the finance Minister Dr.Amin Adams on 23rd July, 2024 to justify how best their government has performed.
