Gov’t 2.2million Job creation claim a deception – Baba Jamal

Former Deputy Minister of Employment and Labour Relations, and member of IPAC, Baba Jamal, has stated that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) will not stop their members of the party from registering for the new voters’ register even though they had earlier protested against the exercise.

In an interview with Kwame Afrifa Mensah, on the ‘Epa Hoa Daben’ show, aired on Happy 98.9FM, he instanced that in the case of the registration of the Ghana card, they advised against the exercise but when their advice fall on deaf ears, they will never prevent their members from registering.

“We will not stop our people from registering even if we think that is the right thing to do. If you will remember we advised against the Ghana card but we didn’t stop people from registering. Now go to the grounds and see”, he said.

He bemoaned the undesired results that the Ghana card registration process had brought to the country, and he warned that if care is not taken things will turn out bad in the new voters’ register exercise.

“I can foresee problems in the future in terms of agitation, fighting and confusion. You can witness the tension around the Ghana Card”, he added.

He, however, noted that the NDC will support every process the Electoral Commission puts in place to ensure that there is peace in the country.
