West Ham United: Michail Antonio backs Mohammed Kudus to bounce back after red card suspension

Mohammed Kudus has received strong support from his West Ham United teammate, Michail Antonio, to make a solid comeback after serving his red card suspension.

The Black Stars midfielder was sent off on October 19 against Tottenham Hotspur for punching and pushing opponents, marking a turbulent return to Premier League action following the international break.

Initially handed a three-game suspension, the English FA extended Kudus’ ban to five matches and fined him £60,000. Having already missed games against Manchester United, Nottingham Forest, and Everton, Kudus will also be absent for West Ham’s upcoming fixtures against Newcastle United (November 25) and Arsenal (November 30).

Antonio, currently in Ghana to visit his Samba Stars Academy in Kumasi, expressed how crucial Kudus is to the team.

“Starboy, his quality is unbelievable,” Antonio said. “How he dribbles, scores goals, and his ambition—it’s a big miss for us. Things haven’t gone well this year, but I know he’ll come back fully ready to go.”

Meanwhile, Kudus has been training with the Black Stars in Accra ahead of their final two 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers. Ghana will face Angola in Luanda on Friday, November 15, before hosting Niger at the Accra Sports Stadium on Monday, November 18.
