Veteran Ghanaian gospel musician, Yaw Sarpong, has sustained some minor injuries after being involved in a ghastly road accident.

The accident happened at Dwaso Junction on the Kumasi stretch after an over-speeding truck trying to overtake another vehicle took over their lane.

In an attempt to avoid a head-on collision, the car in which Yaw Sarpong was in, got hit by a different vehicle.

Manager of Yaw Sarpong, Ashes made this known in an interview on Happy 98.9 FM’s Ayekoo After Drive with DJ Advicer.

He noted that the vehicle in which the gospel star was travelling landed in a ditch after it was hit by the other vehicle.

According to him, Yaw Sarpong was travelling together with a member of the Asomafo team, Maame Tiwaa, one other and the driver.

“By God’s grace no one was severely hurt and they’re all safe as they were taken to the Dwaso hospital and have now been transferred to the Okomfo Anokye Teaching Hospital”.

Describing the nature of injuries sustained by the occupants of the vehicle, Ashes noted that luckily, the car fell on its side with Yaw Sarpong and Maame Tiwaa sustaining some minor bruises to their shoulders and arms.

“It could have been worse but they are okay and the driver did not sustain any injuries”, he added.
