The Youth Employment Agency (YEA) has cautioned the general public about a recruitment scam targeting individuals applying for its Community Police Assistants and Fire Service Assistants programmes.
In a statement shared on its official Facebook page on Monday, June 14, the agency raised alarm over the circulation of fraudulent messages, particularly involving claims that applicants must pay GH¢500.00 to secure placements.
YEA clarified that it does not communicate with applicants via private phone numbers, stressing that all official announcements and correspondence are made strictly through its official and verified communication channels.
The agency urged job seekers and the public to be vigilant and to promptly report any suspicious messages or individuals to the nearest YEA Regional or District Office. It added that mechanisms have been put in place to trace and prosecute perpetrators in line with the law.
YEA assured all applicants that its recruitment processes are free of charge and accessible to every qualified individual.
