Greater Accra Regional Minister, Linda Ocloo, has issued a firm directive to Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs), urging them to prioritize action over excuses.
Speaking at a press conference in Accra on Thursday, August 28, 2025, Mrs. Ocloo announced that MMDCEs will now be evaluated based on three key areas: sanitation, streetlight functionality, and enforcement of local by-laws.
“Your performance will be based on three clear areas sanitation, streetlights, and enforcement of by-laws. This will be documented in my report to the Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, and then forwarded to the presidency.”
She also called on residents to play their part by reporting faulty streetlights, avoiding indiscriminate dumping, and refraining from mounting unauthorized billboards.
Addressing the theft of metal parts from public infrastructure, she warned, “To those who steal metals from our streets and sell them, you are warned to desist from this act.”
“The people of this region are tired of words. They want results, and they want them now,” the Minister declared.
