GPL Week 22 Review- Hearts maintain top spot despite draw as Edubiase stun Kotoko

Accra Hearts of Oak drew their second consecutive league match on Wednesday when defending champions Ashgold held them to a 1-1 score on Wednesday at the Accra Sports Stadium.

However, their title rivals were unable to take advantage of the result with both second placed Wa All Stars and fifth placed Kumasi Asante Kotoko losing to Inter Allies and New Edubiase respectively.
Below is a review of Wednesday’s Ghana Premier League action;
Dreams FC 4-0 Berekum Chelsea (Dawu)
Dreams FC hammered a mentally shaken Berekum Chelsea 4-0 on Wednesday at the Dawu Stadium.
Abeiku Ainooson put the hosts ahead from the penalty spot in the 7th minute while Michael Sarpong added a brace before Emmanuel Eli Keke made it 4-0.
The Chelsea team bus were involved in a motor accident on their way to the match.
Bechem United 2-0 Techiman City (Bechem)
Abednego Tetteh and Yaw Arnol scored twice in the second half to hand Bechem United a comfortable 2-0 home win over visitors Techiman City.
New Edubiasie 2-1 Kotoko (Bekwai) 
Kumasi Asante Kotoko have now gone five games without victory after they lost 2-1 away at New Edubiase’s Bekwai Park.
Kotoko skipper Amos Frimpong scored from the penalty spot to cancel out Tawfik Mohammed’s early lead but the Porcupine Warriorswere stunned late on when Abdul Nasir Lamin grabbed the winner from a late penalty.
Allies 2-0 All Stars (Tema)
Inter Allies recorded their sixth win in 22 matches when they cruised to a 2-0 win over All Stars today at the Tema Park.
Enoch Adu gave the hosts a 15th minute lead while Gockel Ahortor scored in the 60th minute to condemn All Stars.
Hearts 1-1 Ashgold
League leaders, Accra Hearts of Oak were held by defending champions, Ashgold by in a 1-1 drawn game at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Robin Gnagne gave Sergio Traguil’s side the lead from the penalty spot before Anthony Yerful levelled matters for Ashgold in the first half.
Dwarfs 1-0 WAFA (Cape Coast)
Bright Lukman solitary strike won all three points for Ebusua Dwarfs against poor travelers West Africa Football Academy (WAFA) at the Robert Mensah Stadium.
WAFA are yet to win away from home in this season’s Ghana Premier League.
Liberty 4-0 Hasaacas (Dansoman)
Latif Blessing’s brace inspired Liberty Professionals to a 4-0 victory over Hasaacas at the Carl Reindorf park.
Felix Addo gave Liberty a 1-0 first half lead before Blessing scored twice and substitute Kennedy Ashia added a fourth for George Lamptey’s side.
