The Ashanti Regional Police Command has arrested twelve suspects in a series of intelligence-led operations targeting robbery activities across the region, with three of the individuals linked to the killing of the Kusasi Chief at Asawase in Kumasi.

The suspects have been identified as Abdalah Alhassan, Jemini Usman (also known as Babamu), Aminu Iddrisu (0244), Illiasu Dauda, Majeed Issaka Jibril, Gafaru Ibrahim, Mohammed Mumuni alias Mama, Tanko Malik alias Bronze, Mohammed Bawa alias Mallam, Dramani Musah, Suleman Yasir Arafat alias Obasanjo, and Ashaidu Sumbieda alias Eyeshadow.

Police investigations have established links between three suspects, Jamil Usman alias Babamu alias Guru, Suleman Yasir Arafat alias Obasanjo, and Ashaidu Sumbieda alias Eyeshadow and the murder of the Kusasi Chief at Asawase.

A Toyota Corolla with registration number GC 439-21, believed to have been used in the crime, has been retrieved.

During the operation, two additional suspects, Illiasu Bawa and David Aheto, sustained gunshot wounds and were later pronounced dead.

Security personnel also recovered a cache of weapons and ammunition, including two AK-47 assault rifles, a pump-action gun, two pistols, 44 rounds of .32 ammunition, and 24 rounds of 9mm ammunition.

Meanwhile, one suspect identified as Illiasu, also known as Abodam, remains on the run, with ongoing efforts underway to apprehend him.
