The most important thing that any media house can do for its listeners is to touch and transform the lives of the vulnerable  in society through its daily role of entertaining, educating and informing.
Happy FM, through its enviable social programme “Nsem Pii”  has raised $4,000 for the surgery of a young boy who drank caustic soda which is destroying his oesophagus, rendering him unable to eat and drink.
This operation, which will be done at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, is to help repair the damaged Oesophagus as a follow up to an earlier surgery which was done at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital some five months ago.
According to the surgeon who conducted the surgery five months ago, he connected a tube to the boy’s stomach which is being used as a passage through which he can be fed.

“Any food that needs to be given to him must first be grinded and mixed with water before passing it through the tube for his survival.” The Surgeon said.
The mother of the boy brought the issue before the host of “Nsem Pii”, Pastor Wisdom Agodza popularly known as Pastor Nyansa who called on listeners of afternoon show on Happy FM to make donations to support the surgery of the young boy who drank sulfuric acid some seven months ago.

“I have gone round for help because the amount involved was too much for me to bear.” The mother said.
After the request was put out on air, scores of Happy FM listeners stated making donations towards the worthy course.
On Tuesday , February 21, Pastor Nyansa Boakwa presented Ghc7,000 cash and a cheque for Ghc 10,000 to the family of the boy.

Part of the money is for the payment of the surgery and the remaining is to take care of medication.
The process is under the supervision of Happy FM.
Speaking to Pastor Nyansa Boakwa, the boy mother thanked God for directing them to Happy FM and she thanked listeners for their invaluable support.
“Glory goes to God who directed us to Happy FM and also to the listeners who willingly trusted and supported us in our time of distress. I say God bless them abundantly”. She added.
