Vodafone Foundation empowers students through digital education

The Vodafone Ghana Foundation has extended awareness of its Instant Schools digital platform to several schools across Ghana’s capital city. This is in line with a strategic intent to promote digital inclusion in all forms across the country.

About 15 Junior High Schools including University Primary, Alsyd Academy, Alajo and Tesano cluster of schools, St. Andrews and De Youngsters, have all benefited from the platform which guarantees quality academic information on various subjects taught in these schools.
A host of other schools in other areas of the country are also in line to benefit from this experience this year. The Instant Schools portal provides free access to online learning materials for students from primary to the Senior High level. It is a zero-rated product on the Vodafone Ghana website, which means all Vodafone users are not charged for data when accessing the platform.
Instant Schools responds directly to the perennial problem of lack of teaching materials, textbooks, past examination questions and assessment information in many schools across the country. This initiative in Ghana will put a wide range of basic to advanced learning materials online and give unlimited access to everyone, from the city to the remote villages.
Commenting on this, Ebenezer Amankwah, Corporate Relations Manager at Vodafone Ghana said:
“The Foundation has a passion for education in all forms across Ghana. We are committed to ensuring the promotion of digital inclusion amongst every child of school-going age so that no-one is left behind in this technological age. As we go round the schools, we see the spark in the eyes of the students– that sense of enlightenment and empowerment – and that gives us a lot of fulfilment.”
