Asante Kotoko goalkeeper Felix Annan has absorbed sacked coach Zdravko Lugarusic of any blame saying the players deserve the flak for the team’s stale performances.
The Porcupine Warriors held an emergency management committee meeting after Sunday’s 0-0 draw with Ebusua Dwarfs.
It was a fourth league match without a win despite remaining in second place.
“They always say the coach but it’s not the fault of the coach. We as players must lift up our game. When you play for Asante Kotoko SC, you know you always have to be more than 100%,” Annan said at the post-match interview.
“You can’t go four games without a win as a player for Asante Kotoko SC. We it’s our fault, we know we have to work extra because a lot is expected from us so we will take the criticisms.”
The Porcupine Warriors have managed to pick just two points from their last four matches in the premiership.
