Iconic basketball figure Yaw Sakyi Afari has been named Exclusive Sports Man of the Year at the 2017 Exclusive Men of the Year Awards.
Afari won the prestigious Award on his second straight nomination in the Sports Category following his tremendous success promoting basketball through his firm Rite Sports Limited.
The renowned firm has been instrumental in making events such as the Ghana Basketball Awards, Sprite Ball Championship and UPAC Basketball Championship a main attraction on the Ghanaian Sports Calendar.
The celebrated Sports Event Organizer and Advisor doubles as a highly respected Broadcaster who currently anchors top rated basketball television show “Courtside” on Ghana channel Kwese Free Sports.
Upon receiving the award, Afari expounded his gratitude for the immense support.
The much anticipated event was held at the Kemspinski Hotel in Ghana’s capital, Accra with several leading personalities including African Football Legend Abedi Ayew attending.
Afari beat out stiff competition from Ghana Football Association President Kwesi Nyantakyi, ex Footballer Anthony Baffoe, Boxer Emmanuel “Game Boy” Tagoe and fellow Broadcaster Yaw Ampofo Ankrah.
