Kofi Owusu scored in the 7th minute after receiving a pass inside the box from Jeorge Renchi and shot into the left bottom corner.

Kotoko were denied a penalty in the 17th minute as Songne Yacouba was brought down in the box.

Emmanuel Gyamfi got a chance to pull parity for the Porcupine Warriors in the 32nd minute but his shot was blocked by the Chelsea goalkeeper.

Kotoko had to finish the game with 10-men as Ampem Dacosta was sent off after receiving his second yellow card.
The game had to stall due to disturbances from fans following the red card incident.
