2023 AFCON: Angola draw is a fair result for Ghana – Yaw Preko

Former Ghana international, Yaw Preko has said that a point earned by the Black Stars of Ghana against Angola in the 2023 AFCON qualification fixture is a fair result.

Ghana managed to secure a 1-1 draw against Group E opponent Angola courtesy of a second-half strike from super sub, Osman Bukari who scored under 30 seconds after coming on.

Sharing his thoughts on the game on Happy FM, the former Olympics coach believes Chris Hughton and his men made the nation proud since they had to come from a goal down to earn a draw.

“Sometimes Ghanaians shouldn’t be thinking everywhere we(Black Stars) go, we need to dominate and win. Even Nigeria was defeated back in its backyard. Hughton and his men went away and brought back a point so we need to accept that it was a fair result,” he told Ohene Bampoe Brenya host of Happy Sports.

“What I was impressed with the most about the game was that, after Ghana conceded the first goal, the boys(Ghana) were very composed and didn’t panic till they managed the equalizer” he added.

Meanwhile, courtesy of the result against Angola in both legs, Ghana tops Group E and is on course to qualify for the 2023 AFCON to be hosted in Ivory Coast.
