The date for submission of logo and mascot for the 2023 African Games has been extended.

The Youth and Sports Ministry in collaboration with the 2023 African Games Project Team has begun the search for a logo and mascot for the competition.

Happy FM sources indicate that there has been massive interest and many want to involve themselves in the development of the Logo and Mascot and the project term can also use this opportunity to sell the African.

The date for submission of the logo and mascot was published in papers and which didn’t reach most of Ghanaians the need for an extension.

The ministry and the project team are overwhelm how Ghanaians are responding to it.

The Sports Ministry and the African Games Project Team earlier launched a logo and mascot contest, setting Wednesday, July 29, 2020 as the deadline date for submission of works.

But the deadline date for submission has been extended to Wednesday, August 26, 2020.
According to the Youth and Sports Ministry, the logo and the mascot must use “parts of our heritage, our traditional/cultural symbols and flora, as well as fauna to epitomise our collective dreams and aspirations as a people, first as Ghanaians (HOST NATION) and then as Africans.”

Ghana was confirmed the host for the 2023 African Games by the Executive Council of African Union.
Ghana has already selected two cities namely; Accra and Kumasi to host the 13th edition of the event scheduled for 2023.
