19 to now face trial for murder of Major Mahama

The Accra Central District Court on Thursday discharged 13 persons said to have been involved in the lynching of Major Maxwell Mahama.
The 13 were part of the initial 32 accused persons.
The remaining 19 will now face trial on charges of murder and conspiracy to murder.

The 13 were discharged on Thursday following a request by Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Mr George Amegah that the prosecution intends to use those them as witnesses in the case.
Meanwhile 14 other suspects, who are at large, have also been charged for the murder of the military officer.
Graphic Online’s Emmanuel Ebo Hawkson reported that at the hearing Thursday, lawyer for five of the accused persons, Mr George Bernard Shaw, prayed the court to impress on the prosecution to give a timetable on how it intends to proceed with the case.
The court adjourned the case to July 19, 2017 and remanded the 19 into police custody
Below are the names of the 19 suspects standing trial
1. William Baah, assembly man;
2. Yaw Annor, mason;
3. Akwasi Baah, famer;
4. Kwame Tuffuor, driver;
5. Akwasi Asante, farmer;
6. Joseph Appiah-Kubi, driver;
7. Kwadwo Animah, mason;
8. Philip Badu, prison assistant;
9. Kofi Nyame, farmer;
10. Michael Anim;
11. Bernard Asamoah, driver’s apprentice;
12, Ebenezer Appiah;
13. Charles Quainin, vulganizer operator;
14. Anthony Amoah, okada operator;
15. Bismark Donkor, farmer;
16. Kwame Agyei, farmer;
17. Solomon Sackey, carpenter;
18. John Bosie, driver’s apprentice;
19. Vivian Asahene, unemployed
The 14 suspects currently at large and are also facing trial are:
1. Yaw Amankwah
2. Kwadwo Fordjour
3. Kwabena Kenkeba
4. Tikwa
5. Yaw Boadu
6. Fuseini
7. Madam Deebikor
8. Eric Asante, alias Yaw Agade
9. Nana Kwadwo, alias Naa Ajo
10. Kweku Diesel
11. Kofi Ahenkora
12. Solo
13. Wiser
14. Rasta
