The court, presided over by Her Honour Angela Attachie, ordered the remand on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, following charges brought against the accused.

Pastor Gyimah has been charged with false communication contrary to Section 76 of the Electronic Communications Act, 2008 (Act 775), and publication of false news with intent to cause fear and alarm, contrary to Section 209 of the Criminal and Other Offences Act, 1960 (Act 29).

Prosecution told the court that the accused was captured in a viral video circulating on social media platforms, including TikTok, allegedly making false and threatening statements directed at the Vice President, Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang.

The prosecution further prayed the court to remand the accused into custody to allow for ongoing police investigations.

After hearing the prosecution’s case, the court granted the request and remanded Pastor Gyimah into police custody.

He is expected to reappear before the court on April 13, 2026.
