GHANA OPEN INTERNATIONAL TAEKWONDO CHAMPIONSHIP LAUNCHED

Ghana will host it’s first ever International championships from the 18th to 19th of August ,2017 at the sports hall of the Accra Sports Stadium.
The launching was held today at the press center of the Accra Sports Stadium .
The president of Ghana Taekwondo Federation ,Frederick Lartey Otu applaud NSA boss Robert Sarfo Mensah for his enormous support to ensure that Ghana host a successful tournament.
“the energy that the NSA and it’s department staff putting in supporting us in very very encouraging.it is our hope and pray that the National Sports authority and it’s staff continue to help through this journey for us to have a successful tournament so when we apply to host it next year ,we will get it”
The president stated that,they pushed to host the championships since last year November before getting the nod to host the championship and believes everything is in order for the championships to start.
The National Sports Authority director Hon.Robert Sarfo Mensah represented on behalf The sports ministry and the NSA. The Hon.Sports minister Isaac Kwame Asiamah was to grace the occasion but he was assigned to another important event.
Hon.Robert Sarfo Mensah declares government full support to ensure Ghana host a very successful tournament.
He stated”we fully support the host of this very important championships.we congratulates the Taekwondo fraternity for their effort to host the rest of the world.hosting this tournament will again put Ghana on international map”
The countries who have registered so far to participate in the upcoming championships are;
1.Italy
2.Turkey
3.USA
4.Togo
5.Serra Leone
6.Malawi
7.Rwanda
8.Benin
9.Ivory Coast
10.Morocco
11.Senegal
12.Burkina Faso
13.Ghana
