Telecel Ghana has presented the second GHC 1 million grand prize in its ongoing M’ahitti Promo to 25-year-old mason, Daniel Asante, turning an ordinary day into a life-changing moment for the Lapaz resident and his family.

Standing alongside his mother and brother at the prize presentation ceremony, the visibly emotional winner received his cheque after weeks of uncertainty and disbelief following the announcement of his win. Like many winners before him, Daniel initially struggled to believe the news when Telecel Ghana first reached out to inform him that he had won the promotion’s second monthly grand prize. The young mason admitted that repeated calls from Telecel Ghana were met with suspicion at first, as he feared the offer was too good to be true.

“I had a lot of doubt about it when they kept calling me. I was afraid it was a scam or that I was going to be kidnapped,” he recounted.

His doubts eventually gave way to excitement after the necessary verification processes confirmed that he was indeed the rightful winner of the GHC1 million prize. Reflecting on how his journey began, he explained that he had been receiving promotional messages about the campaign before deciding to take part.

“I had been receiving messages from Telecel M’ahitti and one day I decided to opt in. I never thought this would happen to me,” he said.

Now a newly minted millionaire, Daniel says the prize will pave the way for a brighter future for himself and his family. “I feel very excited about this because I know it’s going to help me and my family a lot. I will start a business for myself and invest the rest.”

Speaking at the presentation, Aneth Muga, Director of the Consumer Business Unit of Telecel Ghana congratulated the winner and noted that the promotion continues to transform lives across the country. “At Telecel Ghana, we are committed to rewarding our customers in meaningful ways, and the M’ahitti Promo particularly excites us because we are seeing firsthand how it is changing lives and creating opportunities for everyday Ghanaians. Today, we celebrate our second millionaire, but there is still more to come, and we look forward to rewarding many more customers in the weeks ahead,” she said.

Regulated by the NLA under the Caritas Lottery platform, the Telecel M’ahitti Promo since its launch has rewarded more than 8,000 winners with prizes worth over GHC 3.6 million nationwide, reinforcing Telecel Ghana’s commitment to delivering value and rewarding customer loyalty. Speaking at the presentation ceremony, Bright Ofori, Marketing Officer at the NLA commended Telecel for continuously giving back to customers and assured customers of the veracity of the promotion.  “As a representative of the NLA, I can confidently say that the draw was conducted under our supervision and it is very fair.”

With two of the three millionaires now crowned, one final GHC 1 million grand prize remains up for grabs, alongside daily and weekly cash rewards for customers across the country. Customers can participate in the promotion by dialing *500# or through the Telecel Play App and opting into the M’ahitti Promo for a chance to win instant, daily, weekly and grand prize rewards.
