A member of the Communications team of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Sammy Genfi says he doubt if the corruption ever existed during the reign of ex-president John Dramini Mahama and his NDC’s administration.
According to him, if corruption ever existed in the then NDC administration the governing New Patriotic Party will have started prosecuting those involved in the corrupt infractions in the country.
He says when ex-president John Agyekum Kufour took over from ex-president Jerry John Rawlings he arraigned many of his (Rawlings) appointees before the courts.
It beat my imagination ten months after the NPP took over from the NDC none of the appointees of the ex-president John Dramani Mahama have been arraigned before the courts.
“This gives me the impetus to think that corruption never existed under the NDC led by John Dramani Mahama ,” Mr Genfi said on the ‘Epa Hoa Daben’ show hosted by Kwame Afrifa Mensah on Happy FM in Accra.
He reiterated that if corruption ever existed in the NDC, the NPP would not need the services of a special prosecutor office to prosecute corruption in the country.
“Why will the NPP need the services of a special prosecutor office when corrupt people are abounding in the NDC? This is a clear indication that the NPP has nothing new under their sleeves,” Mr. Genfi reiterated on the show.
