The Ghana Football Association (GFA) President, Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku has admitted that officiating has been a major worry in the country’s football recently.
According to him, the FA is much more committed to developing it.
Speaking at the GFA’s 29th Ordinary Congress in Kumasi on Monday, July 10, 2023, the President of the Association, Kurt Okraku pledged that his administration would see the development of young referees.
“An amount of GHC 300,000 will be pushed to the referee’s Committee to be fully funded and help develop the Catch Them Young Referees as well”.
“We promise to do better in the upcoming season and also continue to develop the game,” he added.
Officiating has been a worry in the Ghana Premier League and across other competitions under the Association. With many of the view that it has dragged the game backward and needs to be tackled.
