Minister sacked from Parliament

A deputy Minister of Communication Vincent Sowah Odotei was on Thursday sacked from Parliament when he appeared to answer questions about his ministry.

According to the Minority, the minister was not “well placed to answer probing follow-up questions” and hence the need to defer the session.
They said they want the substantive Minister, Ursula Owusu-Ekuful to appear before the House to answer the questions.
The Speaker of parliament, Prof. Mike Oquaye was subsequently compelled to send the deputy minister away.
Meanwhile, there is confusion in Parliament as the Speaker has been accused of refusing to recognise the leadership of the Minority ahead of the commencement of the budget debate.
Sitting has since been suspended.
