Accra Hearts of Oak’s longest serving Board Secretary, Ernest Thompson has swerved hundreds of football loving people after ruling himself out of the race of who succeeds Kwesi Nyantakyi as Ghana FA president in 2019.
Kwesi Nyantakyi has revealed that he won’t seek re-election for Ghana Football Association president after the expiration of his current tenure.
With Thompson’s ‘vast experience’ in the game, many have tipped him to succeed the current president Kwesi Nyantakyi in 2019 but the astute legal luminary, speaking on Happy FM, said it’s not even crossed his mind.
“No, no, I have not really thought about that at all. Kwesi Nyantakyi has made his point clear for not contesting for 2019. It hasn’t got to that stage and I don’t think we should be talking about who takes over.”
He added, ” There are issues at the FA, I know they are having a three-day seminar and I’m supposed to join them but I doubt whether I can make it. I can’t talk about myself being an FA president. It has not even crossed my mind.”
