Ga chiefs must cite defence minister for contempt

The aspiring Ashanti Regional Deputy Director of Communications for the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has appealed to the Teshie Ga chiefs to cite the Minister for Defence, Dominic Ntiwul for contempt of court.
According to Alex Asafo-Adjei, the minister sought to create the impression in the eyes of the general public that the lands that were released to them by the court of competent jurisdiction were fraudulently obtained.
He called on the chiefs to charge on the minster for creating the impression in the public domain that they acquired the  said military lands by fraudulent means.
Asafo-Adjei made this appeal when he had a field day as a panelist on the ‘Epa Hoa Daben’ Show hosted by Kwame Afrifa-Mensah on Accra-based Happy FM.
He said the scenario the minister sought to create by ordering the ex-president John Dramani Mahama who had rented a commercial property on the said military to vacate was as if the ownership of the land was fraudulent acquired.
He urged them to put their foot down before some elements in the governing New Patriotic Party(NPP) hide behind the Ghana Armed Forces  to circumvent the ruling of the court.
He said the minister’s actions was to sidestep the ruling of the court and  to enable him come for the lands even though the chiefs have given the said lands out on lease to property developers.
He noted that the private commercial property in which the ex-president is occupying was owned by Chase properties after the Nana Addo’s government failed to properly house him(Mahama) in accordance with the law after leaving office.
