Black Queens have been drawn in a deadly group in the preliminary stages of the WAFU Zone B Women championship which will be held in ivory coast from the 10th to the 24th of February 2018.
The draw which took place Tuesday morning in Abidjan, Ivory Coast was graced by high ranking cote d’Ivoire football personalities and the General Secretary of WAFU zone B, Mr.Aka Malan.
Speaking on Happy FM, Aka Malan said the maiden edition of this senior women competition is part of the deal with Fox Sports Africa and one of the many initiatives that women football will benefit from.
“The WAFU Women Championship is one of the many initiatives that women football will benefit from the deal with Fox Sports Africa. The competition is set to commence immediately after the CHAN competition,” Aka Malan told Happy FM.
Fox Sports Africa, who have signed a 10-year deal with WAFU, are on a journey of developing and growing football in Africa especially women football.
Below are the groups:
Group A: Ivory Coast, Niger, Burkina Faso, Ghana
Group B: Nigeria, Togo, Benin, Senegal
