Black Maidens Coach To Lead Team To Demonstrate Against Sports Ministry

The Black Maidens of Ghana have planned to stage a heart-wrenching demonstration against the country’s Sports Ministry for shunning them altogether.
The Black Maidens braved through the storm, against all odds, to qualify ahead of USA in a group that also had Japan and Paraguay at the 2016 FIFA Women’s Under-17 World Cup in Jordan.
Unfortunately for these gallant Maidens, they didn’t receive a penny from the Sports Ministry throughout their stay in Jordan.
Despite these challenges, they put up a sterling performance against tournament favourites Korea DPR until a 94th minute winner broke their hearts and that of Ghanaians.
Head coach of the side, Evans has told Happy FM that he will lead his charges to demonstrate against the ministry for the ill treatment they have meted out to the young girl who had to go through torrid times in Jordan because they didn’t a pesewa on them.
“I will lead the girls to stage a demonstration against the sports ministry. The ministry hasn’t been fair to the team at all. The girls weren’t given any per diems throughout their stay in Jordan.  At a point, getting sanitary pads for the girls was a problem. Even when we returned, there was no official from the ministry to welcome and this is so heart-breaking for these young girls who flew high the flag of Ghana and even Africa at the tournament.” Coach Adotey bemoaned on Happy FM.
The Black Maidens lost their first game at the tournament to holders Japan by 5-0 but they rallied on to beat USA and Paraguay to qualify for the quarter-finals where they crushed out through a 94th minute goal by Korea DPR.
